robot revolution

When some people think about robots, they fear the worst: machines on an unstoppable march toward global domination. Bots may not be taking over yet, but this year was a big year for our mechanical cousins — from being able to hunt or feel pain, robots picked up some impressive new skills in 2016. Here's a roundup of some of the coolest or scariest, depending on how you feel) abilities machines added to their repertoire in the last year.
Soft robotics is a rapidly growing discipline, but until this year, the devices still relied on some rigid parts. Now, scientists have created the first completely soft-bodied robot that looks like an octopus and can propel itself. The device is made of silicone and uses gas from a small reservoir of hydrogen peroxide to pneumatically power its tentacles. The researchers are now working on adding sensors so the bot can navigate its environment.
The world's first autonomous robotic surgery took place this year. The procedure was carried out on a pig intestine, but the Star robot appeared to perform slightly better than skilled human surgeons at stitching up the animal’s intestines, according to the research published in May in the journal Science Translational Medicine. It's not unusual for robotic arms to assist doctors in surgeries these days, but this year, the tiny Preceyes surgical robot was used to operate inside a human eye for the first time. The bot acts like a mechanical hand controlled by a joystick that filters out tremors from the surgeon. Elsewhere, researchers created an ingestible robot from dried pig intestines and a magnet that can be guided through the body using a magnetic field to remove a battery, or other foreign object, from a person's stomach lining.
Borrowing principles from small primates known as bush babies, researchers built a robot called Salto that can spring off walls to gain height faster than any previous robot. Salto uses a latex spring and a carefully designed single leg to leap 3.2 feet (1 meter) high from a standing position. The robot can then readjust in midair to push off from a wall, something previous designs have not been able to do. The researchers said this could lead to robots that can quickly traverse rubble in disaster zones looking for survivors.
and all looking for what is coming up next in 2017 from new invention and technology

Gadgets make the home work more simple

over the last decade, the automatic cleaning robot industry has really started to come into its own. There’s way more out there than just Roombas – you can now find robots to mop your floors, clean your showers, unclog your gutters and more.
But don’t just take my word for it. Take a look for yourself – here are three  of the most useful robotic cleaners us here at Techlicious have seen recently.
Floor Mopping Robots
Robot vacuums are great if you have a lot of carpeting in your house. But if you have hardwood floors like I do, you’d be better of going with a hard-surface floor cleaner like the iRobot Braava 380t instead. It has both a wet mopping and dry mopping mode, and works with both microfiber cleaning cloths ($19.99 for a 3 pack) or the disposable type you can get at the supermarket. It’s approved for tile, vinyl, hardwood and laminate floors, and is great for families with shedding pets.
Vacuuming Robot
No discussion of home robots would be complete without discussing a vacuum. Here, we like the quiet, laser-guided Neato Botvac Connected over the Roomba. It features three high-performance filters, a side brush to clean near walls, a 2.96-cup-capacity bin (larger than the Roomba), and a simple magnetic boundary strip you can put anywhere you want to keep it away from. It cleans for about 1 hour on each 2-hour charge.

Gutter Cleaner Robot

Gutter cleaning: It’s a hassle, it’s dangerous and it’s expensive to farm out the job to a
professional year after year. For a more high-tech solution to this difficult task, check out the iRobot Looj 330 gutter cleaning robot. It has a high-velocity, four-stage auger to chew through and remove the toughest of wet leaf clogs, restoring your gutters’ proper function. It can clean a 30-foot section of gutter in about 5 minutes, and cleans up to 200 linear feet on a single charge.

the idea that Steve Jobs use to build high-tech giant (apple)

Steve Jobs believed in a simple fact: everything around you "was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it. You can influence it. You can build your own things that people can use.
Jobs definitely practised what he preached. While all the other technology firms were churning out products with all the wow factor of a tumble dryer, Apple set out to change the world with innovative computers and gadgets, again and again and again.

sneak peak in to samsung note 8

Ever since Apple's release of the first iPad, Samsung has been churning out tablets to battle them on so many fronts it's starting to look like overkill. With so many larger Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note varieties out there, it makes sense that Samsung would try to compete against Apple's latest offering too, the iPad mini. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 caters to a crowd that wants in on the whole tablet game, but wouldn't go all-in with a full-size device. Samsung is able to deliver on this, building on the market experience of its phablets, the S-pen-enabled Galaxy Note and Note II.

In fact, the similarities between the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and Note II go even further than the S-pen, as both devices feature the same chipset and processor speed, Android build, and very similar display resolutions.

new MacBook

Now that invites for the October 27 Apple event have seen sent out, there's much speculation about what we will, and won't, see from a purported new generation of MacBook Pro laptops.
Thus far, the generally agreed-upon predictions -- as rounded up by Macrumors  are:New MacBook Pros with a thinner, lighter design and a secondary touchscreen at the top of the keyboard. That tiny screen is said to be replacing the function key row and providing context-based commands . different "soft" buttons which would vary depending on the app in use. Possible minor updates to the MacBook Air, which is one of the longest-standing designs in the Apple universe.A minor spec bump may be in store for the iMac desktops. With their distinctive aluminum bodies and (sometimes) glowing Apple logos, MacBooks are a familiar sight everywhere people compute on the go, from coffee shops and airports to college campuses.
But if it feels like you've been seeing the same MacBooks floating around for a while, you'd be correct. And that's why interest in next week's Apple event is so high. The current iterations of most MacBooks have been around for longer than many competing laptop lines, and the lone non-retina display 13-inch MacBook Pro is still on sale with the same basic configuration it's had since 2012. (Yes, Apple still sells a computer with a DVD drive.)
That's an outlier, but it's emblematic of a larger issue: the pace of design innovation on the Mac platform has slowed considerably. The last truly new model was the 12-inch MacBook in 2015. Apple's other laptops, the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro, haven't seen anything other than minor spec bumps -- stuff like newer Intel chips, faster Wi-Fi, more memory -- in the past several years, although that may change by next week. Before the upcoming event, the only "new" Mac so far in 2016 has been the refreshed version of that 12-inch MacBook -- again, just a faster chip dropped into last year's body.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

this device was ultimately cancelled smartphone – will return next year in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, according to Samsung. Not deterred by its explosive battery scandal, the South Korean company plans to move forward with the Samsung Galaxy S8 early next year and Galaxy Note 8 before the end of 2017.
